comprehension apprehension

Only that which we do not comprehend
can rescue us from our rigid states of comprehension.

We tend to fear or disdain what we do not comprehend.
We refuse to even begin to comprehend it.

We have comprehension apprehension.
We lift all drawbridges from our moat.

We congratulate ourselves on our self-sufficiency.

Only that which we do not comprehend
can rescue us from our dead-on certainty.
